## How it works

1. Choose a currency and enter today's price per gram of gold and silver.
2. Pick the nisab basis — 612.36 g of silver (recommended by most scholars) or 87.48 g of gold.
3. Add your assets: cash & bank balances, gold (grams), silver (grams), shares & investments, business stock, money owed to you, other savings.
4. Subtract debts due now.
5. If net wealth is at or above the nisab and has been held for one lunar year (hawl), Zakat due is 2.5% of it.

## Not counted

Your home, car, furniture, clothes, and other items for personal use are exempt.
